ABOUT ME
Hi my name is Katrina Ragsdale! I’ve been riding and competing horses for the past 14 years. I have extensive experience in the English world competing dressage. I have earned my USDF bronze and silver medal and have competed at regional and national competitions. Over the past two years I have been tampering with barrel racing and more of the western field to extend my horse knowledge along with giving lessons to amazing individuals and starting young horses. I’ve grown a love for teaching the basics of riding and horsemanship and developing young horses under saddle and would love to offer my services to the public
SERVICES I PROVIDE
I provide full service training. My focus is to provide a positive experience while prioritizing the health and safety of you and your horse. My goal is for both horse and rider to leave feeling confident and accomplished.
HORSE STARTING
I offer horse starting which includes starting horses under saddle and giving them the basics to be a good riding/performance horse. This package also includes desensitizing and helpful tools that can be incorporated throughout the horses career in addition to their basics under saddle.
RIDING LESSONS
I offer lessons for $70 an hour where I’m located in Sloughhouse CA. I will observe you and your horse and help where it is needed. I want you and your horse to achieve your goals so I will design a specific training plan catered to you and your horses' individual capabilities and fitness so we can successfully accomplish your goals. I also offer offsite lessons for $85 an hour where I travel to you and teach from the comfort of your own arena within a 15-mile radius (prices go up $2 every additional mile over 15 miles) *I do have lesson horses that can be provided for beginners/intermediate riders*
BOARDING
All horses in training being boarded have the option to either be in a stall with daily turn out or pasture board. I feed alfalfa and orchard hay AM and Pm along with grain/any additional supplements. Fresh water is always provided, and stalls are cleaned daily. Horses are worked as many days a week as their package includes and will be cold hosed and stretched after every session. Fly spray and fly masks are provided to keep your horse comfortable, we even offer sunscreen to our sunburnt prone horses along with blanketing am and pm during the winter season. Horses can be bathed and re-braided weekly if requested.
HORSE TRAINING
I offer multiple options including; legging up your horse to get them in shape, physical rehabilitation, starting your horse under saddle (or already started horses) and teaching them the fundamentals of their bodies. I can bring your horse through the dressage levels or pattern your horse on the barrel pattern, haul them to jackpots/horse shows and introduce them to trail riding and multiple sceneries/environments.
